A stream of unchained images
Relentless as a drum.
A shadow of an angel,
A light shone through the door
A holy garment
Dropping to the floor.
The silence only night can bring,
The trembling of the sympathetic string

A room full of strangers
And immortality.
A set of pieces
Unburdened by a theme,
Take ten and step outside
To breath a smoky dream,
Then back into blazing lights to sing,
And lean upon the sympathetic string

I remember little
But I remember this,
Song and sanity
Bartered for a kiss.
A shoulder churning,
A slowly closing eye,
A soft mouth caught between
A whisper and a sigh,
Things that may not mean a thing,
Yet they move the sympathetic string.
